BRIEF INTRODUCTION:-
Vikal’ ji was born on July 2, 1924 in Raipur village. The third child of father Sundar Lal and mother Saraswati Devi proved to be the son of Saraswati in true sense. At the young age of 11, his father’s shadow rose from his head. After a few months, Goddess Saraswati also left this world leaving him weeping and crying. Two brothers also left his side and left. To satisfy the hunger of the stomach, he came to the city and started the work of distributing newspapers. For a few days, he also worked in the Gandhi Library. Vikal ji, a knower of Hindi, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bengali and English languages, obtained post-graduation and Sahityaratna degrees in Hindi. After becoming a teacher, he devoted his whole life for the welfare of the students, in honor of which he was awarded the title of teacher struggle fighter. After retiring after teaching for a long time in Kakori Shaheed Inter College Jalalabad (District Shahjahanpur), he started living with his son in Shahjahanpur. Even after separating from the Kavi Sammelan, he used to come and go in poetry meetings. He died on 15 October 2009 at around 1.30 pm in a private hospital in Bareilly.
Dada Raj Bahadur “Vikal” laid the foundation stone of Purushottam Adarsh Kanya Vidyalaya in the name of Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon in the year 1962 along with his wife Dharam Devi in a backward area like Jalalabad for the purpose of encouraging girl child education, this was the time. When people were not enthusiastic about girl’s education and did not like to send her to school, then grandfather ‘Vikal’ and his religious wife used to go door-to-door to take the girl child to school on her own responsibility and after completion of teaching work in the school used to leave them.
